Scope and Content

Leonard Victor Buschman (1893-1977), was a graduating member of the Princeton Theological Seminary class of 1918. This collection consists of two items in one archival storage box.

The first item is a volume of Chinese art depicting the life of Jesus. Buschman donated this volume to the Seminary Library in 1964. It was added to the archives in December, 2007. Letters kept with this book indicated that the book was given to Buschman by Dr. O.C. Crawford, a missionary to Soochow, China. This volume consists of 20 hand-colored lithographs by Chinese artists Luke Ch'en, Lu Hung-Nien, Wang Su-Ta, and Hsü Chi-Hua of the former Fu Ren University in Beijing; a Catholic university.

The second item was donated to the archives in 2003 by the Reverend James Muir, an Associate Pastor of the Central Presbyterian Church in Summit, New Jersey, where Buschman was Senior Pastor from 1941-1957. This journal is entitled American Seminar, 1926: Trip Through Europe and the Holy Land. It is a diary and scrapbook of Buschman's travels.
