Processing Information

This collection was originally organized, and the first draft of the finding aid was written in 1990 by David Whitford, under the direction of William O. Harris, Archivist. Revisions to the finding aid were done by Douglas Denné, Raymond D. Cannata and Wesley W. Smith. The finding aid was edited and reformatted by Sarah Seraphin and Daved Anthony Schmidt in March of 2009.

Series I: Lecture Notes: Boxes 1-11: Lecture notes by Charles Hodge on Theology. Bound manuscript notebooks and unbound manuscript essays, 1841 - 1847. These notes represent Charles Hodge's theology lectures in the late 1840's. The order for the lectures was provided by examining lecture notes taken by Thomas Markham in 1851-52; Markham's notes were verbatim of Hodge's manuscripts. This order was chosen over a chronological order.
